BiographyDavid Richard Chavez, 48, of Taos passed away on July 28, 2010. He retired from the U.S. Army and National Guard. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting. He truly loved and respected his flag, he loved his music and crusing. He truly adored his wife, grandchildren and his godson, Michael “Mikey” Chavez. He is preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Chavez, sister, Roberta Chavez, grandparents, Gavino and Lupe Chavez, Amelia and Martin Rivera, special uncle, Martin Rivera Jr., cousin, Bobby Guara and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Chavez, children, David Chavez (Laura) and Anna Chavez (Fidel), grandchildren, Ashely Chavez, Dominic and Darius Trujillo, parents, Richard “Dickie” and Connie Chavez and brother, Michael Chavez (Melissa), nephews, Michael Chavez and Donavan Duran, very special aunt, Stephanie Rivera, adopted sisters and brothers, Rachel Mondragon (Lawrence), Barbara Rivera, Leonard Rivera (Anna), Rick Rivera (Eileen), Justine Mondragon and Jonas Montano, Joella Montoya-Martinez, Joleen Montoya-Dye, Robert Trujillo (Melba) and Ray Trujillo (Victoria), Sandra Vigil (Norbert, special nieces and nephew, Sherrie Duran, Valerie and Steven Serrano . He is also survived by his step children, Tomas Miera (Michelle), Elaine Hernandez (Paulo) and Cindy Sanchez (Joe), step grandchildren, Lorenzo and Nathan Sanchez, Dezmond and Marissa Hernandez, aunts, Margie Guara, Naomi Rivera, Rita Mondragon, Matilda Rivera, Alice Sandoval (James), Liz Nichols, uncle, Bennie Chavez (Christy), parents in law, Ray and Mercy Trujillo, brothers and sisters in law, Paul Trujillo, Michael Trujillo (Andrea), Brenda Cordova (Darren) and Christine Duran (Curtis) and many other relatives and friends.
